Attending outdoor soccer games or practice takes some getting used to. On TV, it's portrayed as a bright and sunny affair. In reality, however, you're faced with issues like sunburn, lots of mosquitoes, cold weather and more.

Here are five items every soccer mom should have. These will make your life a whole lot more comfortable.

==> Item #1: A Folding Chair with Umbrella

Find a comfortable folding chair that has an umbrella extension. This will allow you to sit without back pains for extended periods of time. The umbrella will help make sure you don't get sunburned and will give you a pleasant shade.

Finding the perfect folding chair and umbrella combo can be quite difficult in department stores. Good places to look online include Amazon and eBay.

==> Item #2: A Blanket

Most practices and games start early enough in the day that it's quite sunny. What a lot of moms forget is that soccer games last for hours.

By the time the game is over, it can be quite chilly outside. It could even be downright cold. You don't want to be stuck outdoors with nothing but a short sleeve shirt.

Bring a small blanket with you if you can. If not, at least bring a jacket with you.

==> Item #3: Binoculars

Seeing your child score from a distance can be exciting. But seeing it up close can be exhilarating.

Having a good pair of binoculars will allow you to catch all the nuances of the game up close and personal. It'll also show your child that you're really paying attention. You'll be able to talk about the game in much more detail afterwards as well.

==> Item #4: Mosquito Spray

Soccer games are often timed at just the worst time of day for mosquitoes. Mosquitoes tend to come out at around dusk, when day turns to night.

Because of this, the mosquitoes as soccer practice or a soccer game can be almost unbearable. If you're going to be outdoors, make sure you bring with you a reliable can of mosquito repellant. Having a sonic repellant couldn't hurt either.

==> Item #5: Travel Mug and Snacks

You're going to be at the game for a long time. Unlike a professional soccer match, there are no hot dog stands and no food vendors. If you're going to last, you're going to need to bring your own refreshments.

Make sure you bring enough water and enough food to last yourself through the whole match comfortably.

Being prepared when you go to a soccer game can make the whole experience much more pleasant. Instead of constantly battling physical discomfort, you can instead focus your energy on watching the game and cheering for your child.
